Description
The sanctuary contains most of the top of the huge bluff locally known as Bare Bluff.  A giant monolith that rises 588 feet above Lake Superior.  This difficult, 3 mile long trail is very rugged with steep slopes and sharp drop offs so be careful!

To get there drive north on US-41 and turn right at the sign for Lac la Belle and Mount Bohemia Ski Area.  Drive about 5 miles to Lac La Belle and turn left on the Bete Gris road and drive about 2 miles to Smith Fisheries road which is unpaved and turn left.  Travel another 2.5 miles, bearing to the right, to the parking area marked with an MNA Sanctuary sign.  The first half mile of the trail is a logging road which takes you to the trailhead sign.  This looped trail may be hiked in either direction.
