Description
Keweenaw Peninsula, Your Ultimate Destination for Lake Superior Sport Fishing

One of the many things that makes the Keweenaw Peninsula so unique is that it is surrounded by Lake Superior in all directions! Consequently, this destination offers some of the best sport fishing opportunities that Lake Superior has to offer from spring through fall.

Keweenaw Charters is a specialized guide service and charter boat operation located in the heart of Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. From our base in Houghton, MI we have access to over 250 miles of Lake Superior shoreline within a 50 mile radius and direct access to Lake Superior's most productive nearshore and offshore fisheries. Our trailerable, state-of-the-art fishing boat gets us safely on and off these big waters in no time and allows us to target the hottest fishing action available throughout the season.

Keweenaw Charters specializes in near shore and offshore sport fishing excursions on Lake Superior, which support's the best trout and salmon fishing to be found anywhere in the Great Lakes region and is also home to Michigan's biggest lake trout. We implement a variety of techniques depending on timing and location as well as the preferences of our clients. On most trips, trolling is the most practical way to target the trout and salmon in our waters, but the nature of Lake Superior's big trout and salmon also lends well to casting in the shallows or deep water jigging at certain times throughout the season. To learn more about the fishing opportunities and peak times throughout the season, please visit https://www.keweenawcharters.com/peakseasons.

Unlike other charter companies, we maintain a trailerable and more agile 22'6" boat. This boat is designed for hardcore fishing and offers the stealth required to hunt down big fish in Lake Superior's extremely clear waters. Every inch of the boat from bow to stern is immaculately maintained and customized to maximize our fishing efficiency and productivity while still providing exceptional comfort on the water. On all of our excursions our clients can learn how to operate the electronics and equipment that we use, which is a great opportunity to learn new skills for future success.

Trophy lake trout excursions can be arranged to Stannard Rock, subject to weather conditions.  In addition, we offer guided ice fishing trips during the hard water season.  Custom charters and cruises can also be arranged, including sightseeing, lighthouse tours and more.  All trips are with our highly experienced USCG licensed and fully insured captains.

Seasons: Open water fishing from USCG inspected charter boat April-November, subject to weather conditions.  Ice fishing trips December-April, subject to weather conditions (transportation provided).

Open 365 days of the year Monday-Sunday w/trips scheduled between sunrise and sunset.

Ports that we fish include Houghton, Portage Canal, L'Anse, Baraga, South Entry, Big Traverse, Lac La Belle, Copper Harbor, Eagle Harbor, North Entry, and Ontonagon.

Please contact us to learn more or to book your next Lake Superior fishing trip. Our trips are great for anglers of all ages and skill levels, and we are committed to exceeding your expectations!
