Dunes & Marshes is open to the public for non-motorized recreation. A loose network of woodland hiking and cross-country ski trails traverses the nature area, helping connect the trails at Redwyn Dunes with the established trails maintained by Eagle Harbor Township. Parking is available at the public pull-off on M-26 across from Great Sand Bay.

Park at the Redwyn Dunes Sanctuary, located on the right side of M-26 which is 6.2 miles from Eagle River.
Hike the Redwyn Dunes trails to access the George Hite Dunes & Marshes Preserve.
Note: Be on the lookout for a Michigan Nature Area sign parallel to M-26, it can be hard to miss! If you
reach the large Great Sand Bay parking area on M-26 you have gone too far. All roads in this area are
plowed year-round, though the parking area may not be. Enter these coordinates into your GPS device
for assistance on finding where to park: 47.436624, -88.223657
