The Surrealism movement was a reaction against reason that gave life to fantastical worlds created by artists such M. C. Escher and Salvador Dali. In this class students will be learn how to create dream-like compositions by exploring space, form, line and personal creativity. There will be an emphasis on learning how to push perspective and imagery. Main mediums that will be used in this class are graphite, pen and ink. Students will be encouraged to use imagery that is important to them and explore the potential of the unconscious mind that surrealism attempts to release. Certain
techniques will be demonstrated throughout the class.
Fee: $75 by March 19; $85 after. Deadline to register: March 26.
