The Annual Michigan Tech University Winter Carnival feature snow statues, human dog sled, downhill skiing, curling, broomball, hairy tales events at the University in Houghton. Virtual events include Triva, Card Games, Art Competition, eSports, and Stage Revue. Winter Carnival, arguably Tech's most established and successful tradition, organized and produced each year by Blue Key National Honor Society, creates quite the influx of visitors, alumni, and friends, many of which take leave from their jobs to visit Houghton to enjoy the celebration of winter.
