Come to the Keweenaw for some stargazing and s'mores! There will be s'mores in the picnic area at 8 p.m. and stargazing in the fort from 10 p.m. to midnight. Meet at the Fort Wilkins Historic State Park picnic area shelter for a campfire and s'mores followed by stargazing and meteor viewing inside Fort Wilkins on the parade grounds next to the flagpole. Joel Kimball, Professor of Physics and Engineering, and Doug McIntosh, local amateur astronomer, will be bringing high powered telescopes for the event. S'mores and roasting sticks will be provided.  Bring a blanket or chair to sit on and some bug spray!

This event is free with your Recreation Passport and the public is welcome. A Recreation Passport is required for entry into Fort Wilkins Historic State Park. If you do not have a Recreation Passport, one can be purchased at the park. For more information about the park or the event, call 906-289-4215.
