Estivant Pines Hike – Experience the Keweenaw 2019
Meet at the trailhead at 3:00pm. Learn something about the majestic pines and MNA and enjoy healthy snacks provided by MNA. The 2.5-mile hike will begin around 3:15 and will be led by Dickie and Cindy Selfe, the volunteer stewards of the sanctuary, and Bill and Nancy Leonard, MNA Keweenaw Stewardship Organizers. The hike will include both trail loops and along the way, a bit of natural and cultural history will be highlighted.
Follow US 41 north through Copper Harbor, turn right on 2nd Street at the Community Center and sign for Manganese Lake. Follow 2nd Street (also called Manganese Road) for 1.2 miles, bearing left onto Clark Mine Road. Travel 1.2 miles and turn right on Burma Road. Travel another .5 miles to the trailhead and parking area and the large MNA Event sign.
