Trail Conditions

This is the final trail report for the winter of 2015-2016 in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula.  Although snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper harbor will officially remain open through March 31st, grooming has ended for the season.

The Keweenaw Snowmobile Club thanks everyone who helped with our winter recreation program.  We look forward to opening the trails again on December 1st.

Houghton county – 10 inches of snow on the ground, 163.75 inches fallen to date as of 3/28/16.
Keweenaw county – 15 inches of snow on the ground, 207 inches fallen to date as of 3/29/16.

Cross Country Skiing Report

Swedetown – Trails dragged and tracks are fair to good. We will not groomWednesday due to predicted warm rain but will be back out Thursday morning and plan to groom through the weekend. (3/29/16)

Michigan Tech –  Skate lanes groomed Monday evening for Tuesday skiing. If forecast is accurate we will not groom again until Thursday morning. Spring conditions. (3/29/16)

Twin Lakes State Park - Grooming has ended for the season.

Chassell - Grooming has ended for the season. 

Copper Harbor - Grooming has ended for the season.

Eagle Harbor - Grooming has ended for the season.

Ft. Wilkins State Park - Grooming has ended for the season.

Maasto Hiihto/Churning Rapids - Grooming has ended for the season.
