This moderate, flat trail is at the northernmost tip of the Keweenaw.  The 1,433 acre preserve, locally known as Horseshoe Harbor, is the largest and highest quality mainland preserve for bedrock beaches and bedrock glade communities.

To get there from Copper Harbor follow US-41 north through Copper Harbor and continue about 2.5 miles until the pavement ends.  Continue on the dirt road about .9 miles to a narrow two-track heading left.  If you don't have a 4 wheel drive vehicle or a vehicle with low clearance you may want to stop and park here and walk in.  On foot or by car, follow the two-track for 1.2 miles to the trailhead sign and park on the right side of the road.
