Haven Falls
Take the Lac La Belle road south off of US-41, approximately one mile east of Delaware. Follow this road approximately 4.5 miles to the fork at the bottom of the hill. Turn right and Haven Park is about a half mile on the right. The falls are at the back of the roadside park and can be seen from the car. The small creek runs over the side of a rock outcropping to a small pool, then on downstream past a small footbridge and through the park on its way to Lac La Belle. Facilities at Haven Park include tables, grills and restrooms. -
Hooked UP Charter Fishing
A LAKE SUPERIOR CHARTER fishing trip in the Keweenaw Peninsula with Captain Steve Erbisch of Hooked UP Charter Fishing is a great way to spend a day on the water. Hooked UP Charter Fishing is located in the Keweenaw Peninsula on beautiful Lac La Belle. We fish Bete Grise for lake trout and salmon aboard the "Reel Spoiled", a 25 foot Chris Craft 1/2 day and full day charters are available for up to six people. Captain Steve is Coast Guard Licensed and fully insured. He has a lifetime of experience fishing the waters of the Keweenaw and would love to share his knowledge during a fun day on the water. Lac La Belle
Take the Lac La Belle Road south off US-41 approximately 10 miles south of Copper Harbor. This was the site of the stamp mills for the Delaware Mining Company and an important shipping point for area mines. The lake was also used as a port of refuge by Great Lakes ships caught in storms on Lake Superior. The photo shows the old stamp mill, some remains of which can be found along the road near Haven Park. -
Lac La Belle
Lac La Belle, one of Keweenaw Counties larger lakes, is a 1,146 acre lake with a maximum depth of 39 feet and access to Lake Superior through the Mendota Canal. Fish include walleye, small & large mouth bass, perch, crappie, northern pike, and muskie. Public access site and boat launch at the state dock.
