The Great Deer Chase mountain bike race will be held on August 16 at the Swedetown Trail system off Swedetown Road in Calumet. The event, held in conjunction with Calumet's Heritage Days, will feature 15 and 25 mile cross country races as well as 3 and 4.25 mile youth races. There will also be a 50-yard Fawn Chase untimed youth race.Races start at 10 am near the Calumet Colosseum on Red Jacket Road in Calumet. An awards ceremony will be held at 4 pm in Agassiz Park on 4th Street. Registration forms are available online and registration will be open at Cross Country Sports in downtown Calumet from 6:30 to 8 pm on Friday, August 15 and 8 to 9 am on Saturday, August 16.
