Enjoy a full weekend of nordic skiing combining new and traditional events including the new Copper Loppet at the Tech Trails in Houghton, the TalviTohinat Skijor Race at Michigan Tech and the Copper Island Classic in Chassell.The new Copper Loppet 13km and 26km races will tentatively be held at the Michigan Tech trails off MacInnes Drive in Houghton starting at noon on Saturday, January 15. If you're looking for a complete week-end experience you can also sign up for the Paradise Pursuit which includes Saturday's Copper Loppet and Sunday's Copper Island Classic.The TalviTohinat Skijor race starts at 12:30 Saturday at Michigan Tech.On Sunday, January 16 the Copper Island Classic races start at 12:50 pm at the Chassell Classic Trails off US-41 in Chassell.The Library Restaurant of Houghton will provide a feed for all racers at the facility at the Nara trailhead just east of Houghton on US-41.Maps, registration and more information are available on the website.
