The first ever CopperDog 150 sled-dog race comes to Calumet and the Keweenaw March 12 through March 14.

Portage Health Great Bear Chase

The 30th Annual Portage Health Great Bear Chase Cross Country Ski Race has moved from Sunday to Saturday this year. Located at Calumet, this event takes place on March 13.

A full weekend of nordic skiing combining new and traditional events at the Michigan Tech and Chassell trails January 15 & 16.

The John Dee Snowfest 2011 will tentatively be held on the Keweenaw Peninsula January 28 & 29. Located at Houghton, this event takes place on January 28 and 29.

Tentatively scheduled for Sunday, June 13, the 36th Annual Lake Linden-Hubbell Sportsmen's Club Fishing Derby at Rice Lake is a day of family fun with prizes, lunch and refreshments.

The Pine Mountain Music Festival brings a comprehensive mix of classical music, including opera, symphony and chamber music events to the Keweenaw during June & July.

The Seafood Fest, sponsored by the Houghton Rotary Club, is held on the Houghton waterfront in conjunction with Bridgefest. This festival runs from June 17 to June 19.

The annual Keweenaw Chain Drive Festival Mountain Bike race includes 16- and 32-mile point-to-point cross-country distance races and the Junior Chain Drive youth races.
