The annual Heritage Celebration takes place August 11 - 17 in Calumet. The celebration kicks off Tuesday, August 11 with a C & H Employees Reunion at 7 pm at the Coppertown Museum.On Wednesday, August 12 there will be Italian Dance Lessions at 7 pm at 5th & Elm Coffeehouse and on Thursday, August 13 the Red Metal Radio Show will be held at the Calumet Theatre at 7 pm.Miss Coppertown will be crowned at 8 pm on Friday at the Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Anne's. The Copper Country Associated Artists will be holding a 50th Anniversary Open House from 6 to 8 pm.Saturday's activities begin with the Heritage Parade at 10:05 on 5th Street in Calumet followed by music, food, vendors, games, horseshoe tournament, horse-drawn tours and more at Agassiz Park on 4th Street. The Great Deer Chase Mountain Bike Race begins at 10 am. The Calumet Elks is holding an Italian Night with a homemade ravioli dinner and cocktails beginning at 6 pm.On Monday, August 17 there will be a Heritage Dance at 7 pm at the Keweenaw Heritage Center at St. Annes's.
