Thistle Eradication Work Day

July 24, 2017
Black Creek Nature Sanctuary
Sedar Bay Road Calumet, MI 49913

Contact & More Info

Invasive thistles have invaded an area adjacent to Black Creek within the sanctuary.  Last year, we had a great workday turnout and removed a lot of them.  Join us for a work session to continue to manage those thistles.  Bring a lunch if you want; we'll provide cookies, freswh fruit and beverages.

Wear protective clothing and thick work gloves.  Bring clippers and small shovels, sunscreen and bug repellent, water and snacks.  Wear your bathing suit underneath if you'd like to go for a dip in the big lake afterwards.  Please RSVP.

From US-41 on the north end of Calumet, turn west onto M-203 and travel about 1.25 miles to Tamarack Waterworks Road and turn right.  Travel 2.5 miles on Tamarack Waterworks Road to Sedar Bay Road and turn right again.  Follow Sedar Bay Road approximately 2.5 miles until reaching the Black Creek trailhead sign and parking area on the right, about 0.2 miles from the end of the public road.  Look for the large MNA Event sign.
