The Copper Island Cross Country Ski Club promotes the sport of cross-country skiing in the Keweenaw Peninsula and grooms and maintains the Swedetown Ski Trails. The club's board of directors meets monthly (the second Wednesday of the month) at the Swedetown chalet. The club hosts the annual Bear Scat Sprints, the Great Bear Chase and the Junior Bear Chase.
