This 13,000 square foot, 45 room ante-bellum mansion was built in 1908 for a wealthy copper mine owner at a cost of $50,000. $35,000 in decorations and furnishings were then added. On the tour you will see silver leaf covered ceilings, embossed and gilded elephant leather wall coverings, stained glass, the grand triple staircase, the wall size built-in icebox made of marble, oak and tile, a panoramic landscape mural and more. The Laurium Manor will leave you with an unforgettable glimpse of the wealth that was common in the Copper Country in the early 1900's.
