In addition, the Portage Hospital Emergency Department and Walk-In Care Service, offering 24 hour physician coverage, is staffed by five full-time physicians; and, as the birthing center of the Keweenaw with more than 400 deliveries a year, the family birthing center is served by two obstetrician-gynecologists and three family practice physicians.
