2-1/2 Hour Sightseeing Cruise: 3 Lighthouses- The working Manitou Light will appear on the east end of the Island as we follow the above tour, and in addition, we’ll cruise the perimeter of the Island. Sightseeing, cruising, relaxing or enjoying a leisurely boat ride gives you a chance to see lighthouses and scenic Lake Superior shoreline, loons, sandhill cranes, eagles, hawks and blue herons. The “Fishin’ Mission” is a comfortable 30' Yacht with a large cockpit and plenty of room for up to 6. She is DNR inspected and approved, and equipped with the essential fishing equipment and safety gear, and comforts including a private head (bathroom). She’ll get you out and back quickly and safely with the power of twin engines.
Your Captain is a family man and experienced fisherman. He is happy to share his love of the lake through history, fish tales, and fishing tips with his “crew.”
Brian grew up fishing and boating on Lac La Belle and Lake Superior, and has lived in the Keweenaw most of his life.Follow me on Twitter, Username: FishinMission.
Fishing Charters to Stannard Rock Light: Native Lake Trout is the catch of the day when fishing at Stannard Rock Light, 35 miles off shore. We’ll troll for the big ones, and you’ll hear “fish on,” so be ready. It’s a blast! This trip is for the adventurous and is a 3-hour round trip boat ride, plus up to 7 hours to fish.Half day Fishing: Bete Gris “Captain’s pick”. Five hours on the water most often brings in a mess of fish. Bete Gris is a cold, crystal clear bay in Lake Superior just out of the channel from Lac La Belle. This is the Captain’s favorite get-away.Fishing/Sightseeing Combination: Near the Lac La Belle Channel is the privately owned Mendota Lighthouse. Down the scenic rocky shore of Lake Superior you can see Smith Fishery, the Montreal River where it empties into the Big Lake, and Bare Bluff, a sheer Keweenaw cliff. At the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula, we’ll pass the lonely Gull Rock Lighthouse, on a rock in the middle of the passage. This trip will include up to 3 hours of excellent fishing time.
